Research & Development Teaching Service Resource
The purpose of this online studio is to assist students in accomplish instructional design projects in the IDT training program. It serves as a roadmap to organize a ADDIE project and provides students with participatory online experiences.
As technology-based environments have become pervasive, learners are spending more and more time working and studying in front of the screen. This study aims to learn learners' experiences and readiness with the online environment.

This project, part of foundation courses in educational technology, is to provide information of theorists who influence current research in the field of educational psychology and technology. The assumption underlying this project is the importance of intensive studying significant ideas in developing robust and cumulative agenda.

Evaluation of the Quest Game
"Quest for the Scroll Game," an online interactive instructional product, was developed by the learning team at the Institute of High Education (IHE) at the University of Georgia to help new students become acclimated to college level study and culture. This project evaluated this online game in order to provide information for making improvements in future design. I worked as a principal investigator.
Does the spacing after the period affect reading time and performance?

While on-screen reading has become a common task for current learners, very few empirical research studies have been conducted to inquire about how on-screen text layouts influence reading tasks.
This study investigated the readability and legibility of on-screen reading materials, such as those used with the Web-based courses and on-screen testing procedures. I worked as a principal investigator.
Online Literature Database for TIP students
This work is developed for EDIT6200 TIP students. The major purpose of the project is to support students to submit literature records, to search the records in database, and to edit the records in the database. It serves as a collective knowledge base for the learning community.
Distance Education at The University of Alaska
Southeast: A Case Study
Distance education offers a new possibility of education and has become concern of many institutions throughout the world. In order to inform policy and implementation of distance curriculum, this research project investigated the practice and status of distance education in the University of Alaska Southeast which has been involved in distance education for years. I worked as a research assistant on this project.
Flexible Delivery Program for Working Teachers; Fostering Online Community
This study investigated perspectives and experiences of the working teachers in a blended delivery program. This masters/specialist degree program uses a flexible delivery model wherein two courses are offered every semester: one online and another face-to-face. The study focused on the sense of community that develops, how the learning effects how they do their job, and to improve the program as it moves forward. I worked as a co-investigator.
Educational Technology in China: National Case and Individual Case
This project examined the most current status of Educational Technology in China, including the general education system, the hardware and software configuration, and educational technology policy.
Under the broad context, it then examined the practice and perceptions of an exemplary information technology teacher in a local situation richly. I worked as a principal investigator.
Teaching English Globally:Overview; Ideas about Writing; Language and Civil Society
These series of video were shooted for a distance course by Spencer Salas on Advanced Reading and Writing Course Overview. The audiences of the video were in-service teachers in Peru and Argentina.
Comparing Educational Systems through Pictures ![]()
This study visually illustrated the difference of elementary school systems between U.S. and China. It re-examined the assumptions under the instructional goals, policies, configuration, and practice.
Ubiquitous Computing Experience in Higher Education
Portability characteristic, wireless connection, and sophisticated functions of laptop computers provide users more mobility and freedom of choice. This study provides an in-depth description of adult learners' perceptions and experience s using laptop computers in higher education institutions.
Association of Chinese Educational Scholars
Association of Chinese Educational Scholars (Aces) was established to support Chinese education scholars in the University of Georgia.This site was designed to share the vision and progress and to promote academic exchange between China and the United States.
The IDT Certificate Program Class Website
The Instructional Design and Technology Certificate (IDT) Program, as part of a college-wide outreach initiative, was conceived to serve training professionals in various organizations. This website was developed to prepare various instructors with students' background information in the program.
Taught courses on educational technology, instructional design, and photography in Suzhou University.
Advised and directed masters/specialists' students research projects through research questions generation, literature review, research design, data collection and analysis, and presentations of results. Their final projects could be accessed at The Instructional Technology Monographs.
A Wiki Project on Technology Standards. Using various emerging technologies to support learning is potential. This wiki framework is for graduate students in EDIT 7500 classes to explore and document ISTE technology standards and their examples of technology integration in P-12 settngs.
EDIT 6200 (TIP) Collaborative Planning Literature Database. This literature database is designed to help technology specilists develop a literature repository and to facilitate understanding of the relationship between technology integration and collaborative planning.
Document Preparation Modules. This demonstration product is to help students prepare a more professional document.
